Dzhangeldy - Dorozhnaya
Dzhangeldy is a relatively small mass of advanced argillic rocks in Northern Near-Balkhash region, partly buried under Quaternary cover, and is targeted as a copper-porphyry system.
Dorozhnaya is a satellite target of Dzhangeldy, consisting of a network of closely spaced quartz veins and stockwork zones.
During the Soviet era, mineralized zones were exposed and sampled via trenches, but no core drilling was done. A deeper porphyry system is presumed, while near-surface mineralization might be of a gold-epithermal type. Exploration and verification with modern geophysical and geochemical techniques is planned.
