Dzhangeldy - Dorozhnaya
Dzhangeldy is a relatively small massif of advanced argillic rocks located in the Northern Near-Balkhash region, partly buried under Quaternary cover, and is targeted as a copper-porphyry prospect.
Dorozhnaya is a satellite target of Dzhangeldy, consisting of a network of closely spaced quartz veins and stockwork zones.
During the Soviet era, mineralized zones were stripped from the surface and sampled with trenches, but no core drilling was done. A deeper porphyry system is presumed, while near-surface mineralization might be of a gold-epithermal type. Prospecting and check-up works using up-to-date geophysical and geochemical techniques have been planned.
